Curriculum Implementation
The Hospitality taster course is delivered through a double session once a week. Learners will have to complete practical assignments as well as compiling a written portfolio of evidence. They will be taken to venues to experience different types of hospitality, and the service industry standards expected.
Learners will begin to manage their own learning, they will plan and run several charity events over the year.
Hospitality encourages learners to work both independently and as a group, supporting each other to complete more complex tasks.
Curriculum Impact
The challenges undertaken allow the pupils to develop confidence and build skills used throughout the world of work.
These include time management, money handling, and team working and communication skills. Pupils will gain ASDAN credits, which can contribute to other programmes, such as ASDAN personal development.
